I loved (still love?) being a kid. It is the time of our lives to love the simple pleasures. Today's ordinary was yesterdays extraordinary. The unfortunate truth is that in the world's poorest countries, many kids don't have these pleasures. Children in these countries are 10 times more likely to die of preventable disease than children in wealthier nations. Each year 2.5 million children succumb to diseases that could be averted through vaccinations. Today can prevent these deaths.
Play some quizzes and games at www.givevaccines.org and for every correct answer, you will provide 0.01 ml of a life saving vaccine that will be given to a child in need. The money is donated directly to the GAVI Campaign, who the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates have:
- Prevented 2.9 million deaths from vaccine preventable illnesses
- Provided an additional 36.8 million children with basic vaccines (against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis)
- Protecting 176 million additional children with new and underused vaccines
Every click helps.
